RobLandley is active in the OpenSource software community, was the head of TechProgramming for PenguiCon 1.0 in TwoThousandThree, and was in charge of national publicity for PenguiCon 2.0 in TwoThousandFour. He was vice- ConChair of PenguiCon's sister convention, LinuCon in Texas, during both years of LinuCon. He made LiquidNitrogenIceCream in the ConSuite at PenguiCon TwoThousandSix.
