Things I should do daily: check emails, respond to emails

Things I should do monthly: check-in with Concom, hold a planning meeting, coordinate meetups/smos, organize an outing for marketing sponsorship and support of the community, make sure open staff positions get filled

It's been about a week since the convention now and I'm trying to get organized and prepared to run the community and convention for 2013. I'm a little bit excited and a little bit terrified. Here is my todo list from today.

  • Settling up the programming budget (5/19 - done)
  • updating the wiki - ongoing
  • shouting out to the community about upcoming meetups (5/19 May and June done)
  • personally thanking my programming staff and panelists (done)
  • making a list of open positions (5/19 done)
  • working on setting up the wrap up meeting (done)
  • gathering information on local events that we can participate in (Mini-Maker Faire, etc. - ongoing)
  • sorting random notes I wrote down at con hoping to remember what amazing ideas these must have been at 4am sunday morning
  • trying to stay awake

I think that's enough for one day, don't ya think?

Still re-adjusting after con, much left to do to not only finish up 2012, but also to start out 2013 right:

  • Settling up the programming budget - Waiting for Tech, double checking with other track heads, finishing my last expense report (5/19, hoping this is done)
  • updating the wiki (ongoing)
  • shouting out to the community about upcoming meetups - Baconfest, Mini-Maker Faire (5/19, added art shows that are awesome!)
  • personally thanking my programming staff and panelists (done)
  • making a list of open positions - Passed on to concom to fill in 5/19 taking to wrap-up
  • working on setting up the wrap up meeting - Hyatt Dearborn Closing, um, what?!? (meeting set, hotel for 2013 not set)
  • gathering information on local events that we can participate in (Mini-Maker Faire, Maker Faire, OLFetc.) - calling out for staff, gathering info.
  • sorting random notes I wrote down at con hoping to remember what amazing ideas these must have been at 4am sunday morning - just a few left
  • trying to stay awake - getting easier with each day
  • making new business cards (5/19)
  • possible ideas for a pcon staff shirt for summer events??? (ordered)
  • gathering feedback (ongoing)
  • setting goals (5/19)
  • update web presence/Update Green Blog (done)
  • GOH list (5/19, possibles listed, needing contact info. and possibly more suggestions)
  • nifty list (5/19, found the wiki page for PAST Nifty and Goh list)
  • big events list (5/19)

  • adding the date in various locations that I somehow missed concerning the wrap-up mtg… oopsies!
  • learned that adding multiple addresses into a post to the list gets me bounced, sad :(

Staff (those working under Concom for the duration of the planning year, those individuals who dedicate 8 hours or more during the weekend of the convention to s specific and planned out task): $25

Panelists(3 panels or more): $30

Concom: $35

Anyone before February 1: $35 Anyone before March 1: $45 Anyone before April 1: $50

One day pass - good for only one day - Friday, Saturday OR Sunday: $30

Full Price at the Door: $55

  • Attended the board Meeting to discuss the budget approval. They gave input on where cuts can be made because they cut 10k from our requested total. Back to the drawing board…

  • Still fine tuning the budget. It's hard to please everyone and there's generally no fair or easy way to make these cuts. It's also hard to wait for people to say what they can and cannot live without. Finally did figure out that if we only spend what we are allow and we have about 1003 paying attendees that we will then start to make money. It's only a guesstimate but it gives me a point of possible reference to aim for.

  • Checking the wiki and website for needed updates and revisions.
  • Slowly enhancing my WOW toons (Sparrowjane and Conchairra - friend me) on Undermine, Guild: Night Shift available to all the penguins and polar bears (or pandas) of our worlds.

  • Agenda items for upcoming meeting on the 9th:
  1. Announce Gohs, request Liasons
  2. Start College Tour Sign Ups
  3. Check for updates on AV, game library, ribbons, marketing, sponsorship…
  4. Remind Concom and Staff to peruse the website and wiki for typos, errors, content updates, etc.
