 Whuffie (from Cory Doctorow's science fiction novel, Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom) is the currency of Penguicon. For each hour that a Legionnaire volunteers they earn 1 Whuffie. These Whuffie are then used to “purchase” rewards from the convention. Each reward has a cost.
 Example: if you work 8 hours and purchase a night in the penguin pit with 2 whuffie, you have 6 whuffie left - meaning you would have to work another 4 hours to reach 10 hours/whuffie to pay for your reimbursement.
